On the 9th of August, Labyrinth returned in full-force to celebrate its 9th Birthday “Tranceformation” at a brand new venue. I’ll admit, I was hesitant about moving the event away from all-popular Trinity. But by the time I arrived at the scene of QV54, the place was bustling with party-goers from far and near and I was convinced that Lab had made the right choice.
On Saturday night I had the privilege of attending Labyrinth ALIVE. As usual, the event was hosted at Trinity, which just so happens to be my all-time favourite place to stomp indoors.
So, what is there to love about Labyrinth the end of the day? Aren’t all trance parties the same?
The answer is NO! Ask anyone who has attended a Labyrinth event; I’m positive they’ll agree, they are always extremely well organised, awesomely decorated and feature some of the best local and international psy artists to hit Cape Town. Although the queue at the door was rather long, once I entered the venue I knew that it was worth the wait. The music was pumping at full-force, people were getting wild and the visuals… Well, I think the photographs speak for themselves.

This time around, I was lucky enough to jam my feet off to Sub6,
the Israeli psy sensation all the way from Tele Viv.
His set articulated everything the event stood for, total liveliness and upbeat energy.

Everyday I experience a small wave of excitement when I log onto my blog’s stats.
What’s most mind-blowing for me is that I’m sitting somewhere, at the tip of Africa, writing about what’s going on in our little city, and sharing it with people I never imagined I’d talk to… and so fast!
This world really has become a global village thanks to the internet, as well as the psytrance and culture that connects people all over the planet. And a small but beautiful planet it is.
Thank you to everyone who reads my blog, where-ever you are.
I hope you’re getting psyked in your city.
