Weekend Psyk: DigiCult LIVE @ the Side Show.

DigiCultThis Saturday, in celebration of reaching the 14 000 fan mark, Cape Town Trance Parties will transform the Side Show into the Psyd Show.

And you know what that means, right? A jam-packed evening of grooving beats, happy stompers, enticing eye candy and plenty of psyk… but wait, it gets better. Not only does the lineup feature insanely skilled local DJs, Cape Town Trance Parties presents DigiCult, the Belgium psy king.

DigiCult was founded in 2003. Ever since, they have been working their way up the psy ladder. These guys have travelled all over the globe to deliver psychadelic madness to the ears of thousands, from Sweden to Ukrain, Greece, Brazil and even Cancun. They’ve played at some of the biggest and well known festivals, including the Tree of Life Festival,  Ozora and Vision Quest. And now DigiCult is ready to venture into Africa’s trance capital, on a mission to tear Cape Town apart, beat by beat.

Their sound is best described as deep, intelligent full-on morning, with a gentle oldschool touch – guaranteed to keep the dance floor pumping.
If you don’t know of DigiCult, take a listen to this special set recorded at Tribal Roots.

Who is BLiSS?

BLiSS, AKA: Yonatan Marcow, was born in 1981 in a small village in Northern Israel.
At 16, with a thorough background of rock n roll guitar, he discovered electronic dance music.
His friend, Roy Engel (aka Painkiller), introduced him to the psytrance world.

Why do we love him?

“BLiSS is a musician that never slips into the current music fashion slide and stays loyal to himself while exploring new and unheard territories.”

And so true that is. BLiSS is one of the most loved international psy DJs, and is signed with
Nutek Records. His combination of musical knowledge and production skills help him to produce fresh tracks that make crowds go crazy.

After the success of his first album “The Rhythmus Gene,” in 2005, he began touring the world and performing all over the psy-trance map. In 2008 he released a second mind-blower of an album
“The Looney Bin.”

His latest album release: Build-up.

BLiSS has collaborated with A-list DJs along the way such as Psysex, Atomic-Pulse, Dynamic, CPU, Michle Adamson, Loud and, most notably, Painkiller. Together, the psy geniuses have created a new project called the A-team. March 2008 saw the release of their master-blaster debut: “Fast Forward”.
And they’ve been dropping killer beats ever since.

What’s the psyk about?

Herbal Remedy offers you the chance to revert back to the original, down-to-earth, positive experience of TRANCE.
Nobody likes crowded places where jamming is literally impossible and it takes 30 minutes to order one drink from the bar.
Come and enjoy the music without being bashed around left, right and center (perfect for shorties like myself!)
Forget waiting hours just to pee, the pick-pocketers and the MD trippers.

Everything sold at the event is Natural, Organic and 100% Legal. Products range from Herbal hand-rolled ANTI-TOBACCO blends, Raw Fynbos incenses, Hemp Jewellery created with positive energy…. As well as organic olive oil, Buchu products, Sceletium/Kanna, Raw Honey, Salvia extracts, Herbal soaps, Dental Cream – (ayuvedic toothpaste), treatments and it doesn’t end there.

These guys  care about the community, all the more reason to support.
Please bring any and all old clothes you have and are willing to donate
