PSYKED:
Hi Tzahi! Tell me the story of how you and Yarden met. When did you decide to start making music together?

SIDE EFFECTS:
Hi there! Yes, Yarden and I have been good friends since childhood and we started producing together in 2009.

PSYKED:
Have you always been musically inclined? Who are your biggest inspirations or mentors in the industry?

SIDE EFFECTS:
I guess so; we both have always had lots of love for music. Some of our biggest inspirations are Astrix, Ace Ventura, Liquid Soul and of course Cosma.

PSYKED:
Last month you guys released a new EP, “Recognise People,” through New Kick Records. Tell us a bit more about the signature Bouncerz sound and how it differs to that of Side Effects?

SIDE EFFECTS:
Our main project Side Effects is more of a tougher psychedelic progressive sound with a more serious edge. Where as our Bouncerz is our bouncier psychedelic project with a very groovy sound. So the main difference would be in the groove and the bass lines, as both projects have a different feel but work very well together on the dance-floor.

PSYKED:
You’ve played at events all over the world. Can you name your most memorable performance so far this season?

SIDE EFFECTS:
I would have to say that the Psy-Fi Festival in the Netherlands was definitely a memorable experience for me.

PSYKED:
What in your opinion makes or breaks a festival?

SIDE EFFECTS:
I believe that the right mix of good people, good atmosphere and good music makes for the perfect festival, anywhere you go.

PSYKED:
When you’re at a party, how do you spend your time if you’re not behind the decks?

SIDE EFFECTS:
We usually would be in the studio working hard but outside of this, I love hanging with my friends, going out for drinks and being around cool people.

What are you working on at the moment? Do you have anything special up your sleeve for your set at Vortex?

SIDE EFFECTS:
Yes, we are always working on new music. Currently we are focusing on our second Side Effects album and for sure there will be lots of great surprises in our set at Vortex.

PSYKED:
Before we wrap things up, is there anything else you want to share with our followers?

SIDE EFFECTS:
Hello Cape Town! I am super excited to arrive in your beautiful city soon and very much looking forward to performing at the Vortex Festival and seeing all of you there!
